The maximum price of 95 octane gasoline at self-service pumps in Israel will fall by about NIS 0.25 per liter, from NIS 5.96 to NIS 5.71 on Sunday at midnight, August 1, market sources estimate. There will be no change to the NIS 0.19 charge for receiving full-service at pumps from gas station attendants.
This is the second consecutive month that gasoline prices have fallen in Israel following a sharp fall in oil prices on world markets. Before July there were three consecutive months of price rises as global oil prices staged a recovery but prior to that there had been two years of sharp falls in gasoline prices as oil prices tumbled on world markets.
The price of fuel in Israel is set according to the price in the last four days of the month at Lavera in France. 65% of the price paid at the pumps in Israel for gasoline is tax.
