“We’re all Humans of Jerusalem”
Humans of Jerusalem, a happy community page by Simcha Elazar Jessel has been taken down by Facebook, but why?
Yes the ruthless Facebook community standards department has struck again. No, not to a ‘Death to Jews’ or ‘Israhell’ page, they are okay according to facebook, but to a good community page called Humans of Jerusalem.
Jessel had to his Facebook friends:
“Friends, I never tag random friends in my posts, and I’m only doing so because I need your help. I am the latest in a series of attacks against pro-Israel pages. Earlier this week, I was mysteriously locked out of my personal profile, and tonight, I received notification that my page, Humans of Jerusalem, has been unpublished for an unspecified violation of Facebook’s terms. I’ve attempted to appeal it, but from what we’ve seen the only way to get Facebook to take notice is to make noise. Guys, please reach out to any connections you have, share this on your profiles, post about it on your pages, let’s get my project back on the air, because this isn’t my own personal page. We’re all Humans of Jerusalem.”
In June this year we reported about another page that was removed. The Israel Network had its page restored after a massive campaign by Facebook users and other pro-Israel organisations like JMA. Other articles here on JMA also reported Facebook’s bias against pro-Israel groups and pages. They are published here about Facebook treating Jews unfairly. Other reports are found here, and here.
Hopefully there will be another huge campaign to help Jessel get his page back and fast. It is unacceptable that Facebook will not even explain why they removed the page, nor respond to the appeal that was made.
