The Child Terrorist – A (not so) New Strategy

Abdul Mansara

By Ariel Zorrowski

Ahmed Mansara, the 13-year-old Arab terrorist who along with his 15-year-old cousin stabbed a 13-year-old and 21-year-old in Pisgat Ze’ev in Jerusalem will be sent home. Why? Israeli Law states that he cannot go to prison as he is under 13. He may however be charged when he is 14 in January. Yesterday I read that Ayelet Shaked proposes to enact a law in which terrorists under 13 years old will enter the prison and judge them like other the terrorists. I hope they do it soon.

Today we see that the Arabs learnt fast from this as two 12 year old boys attacked a guard on the light rail in Jerusalem. One was shot and died from his wounds later and the other was arrested. We see in this video the two boys sitting on the train planning and then executing their attack together on the guard. Luckily he was strong enough to overpower them but they would not stop until the end. No fear at all. You can see as they sit there on the train that they don’t look drugged or crazed as some people say. On the contrary, they are calm and waiting to attack.  Click for VIDEO

The Arabs quickly learnt that they can send their kids to kill Israelis and after a while they will be home again, because they are under age. How can a civilised country such as Israel, or any other for that matter, deal with 12 year old kids carrying knives and attacking people? When an Israeli sees an Arab child in the street what are they to think? Is it just a child or does he or she want to kill me? Terrorism is about creating terror and experiencing attacks by Arab men, women and children is clearly creating an environment of terror. Something Israelis have lived with for a long time but now kids as well.

Here we see one of many photos of an Arab child being indoctrinated from birth. ‘From Birth to Grave’ these kids learn one thing, hate. Hate of Israel, hate of Jews, hate of law, hate of the IDF. Hate is all they know but surely they must have some fear when they attack another person, or maybe not. Ahmed Mansara and his cousin stabbed a 21 year old man and a 13 year old Israeli boy on his bicycle multiple times, not by chance, they went out looking for people to kill.

As a father I cannot imagine my kids, thank G-d, even contemplating or understanding this level of hate and activity. They have been bought up knowing love and compassion. Oh and respect of other cultures. My love for my children is unconditional, I value their lives before mine. I cannot comprehend how a parent can knowingly send their children out to die and wait for the call that he or she is dead, injured or arrested. It is, thankfully, beyond my comprehension.

So what are the Israeli forces and Police to do? Nobody wants to shoot or kill a child, even an Arab terrorist child with a knife but when it is the terrorist’s life or their own they must do what they are trained to do. Shoot. In that split second of seeing the glint of the blade heading for them they must draw their weapon and shoot to stop that terrorist from stabbing them in the head. They know to aim for the head as the forces wear knife proof vests. They also learn to use a rusty blade or one dipped in poison to cause infection in their victims.

The culture of teaching babies and children to hate and kill must stop if we are ever to reach peace. Unfortunately that is unlikely as we saw in the videos from Gaza with parents and children waving huge knives and chanting hate. Or the video of the two year old beheading their teddy, or the photos of babies in suicide vests whilst still in their cradle. The people who talk about peace or a two state solution seem to ignore the fact that these people want none of that. They chant ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’. That is not a sign of peace, no they want a Jew Free Israel, nothing less.

In an article yesterday in the Jerusalem Post Naftali Bennet disagreed with Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement in support of a two state solution. He said “I deeply disagree with him,” in an interview with Army Radio. “Unfortunately, most of the parties in Israel support creating a Palestinian state in the heart of the Land of Israel. I think it’s a historic mistake.” Netanyahu said, in a joint press conference with Obama, that he still wished to see “two states for two peoples, a demilitarised Palestinian state that recognises a Jewish state.” This old talk of a ‘demilitarised Palestinian State’ and recognising Israel as a Jewish state needs rethinking. The Arabs will never give up their arms and even if they do they will simply re-arm, courtesy of Iran of course.

Do we really care if they ‘recognise a Jewish State’? Well frankly I personally don’t care what they recognise so long as they respect the right of Israel to exist in peace. There needs to be a different approach to this old rhetoric, something that maybe will work for everyone. I hope and pray that I live long enough to celebrate just that.
