Sami Kuntar waves goodbye

Lebanese militant leader Samir Kantar has been killed in Israeli air strikes that targeted a building in the Damascus district of Jaramana, a stronghold of supporters of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Sami Kuntar the terrorist that we released in exchange for our 2 dead soldiers with Hezbollah, has been assassinated in Syria.
He was originally captured after the most horrible terrorist attack in the 1970s when he came into Naharaiya with a rubber dingy and attacked a family there. He them tool part of the family back to the beach and murdered the baby of the family by smashing her head against the rocks on the beach In front of the father of the family.
On his release after nearly 30 years, he was greeted by Hezbollah as a great hero and returned immediately to terror and the planning if attacks. He was now one of the highest ranking figures in Hezbollah. In this attack at least 6 very high ranking Hezbollah commanders have been killed.
The assassination of Sami Kuntar yimach shimo, is all very exciting and its wonderful to be able give ones enemy a taste of what he deserves, but we have to now think about the future. As in the past, Hezbollah will not let this go unanswered. The chances of a retaliation from the Hezbollah side is almost definite. We have to be really on our toes, especially our soldiers on the Lebanon border, but Hezbollah does have agents all over the world, and so it is suddenly less safe anywhere in the world for Israelis and our leaders.
When we hit Hezbollah a while ago, killing one of their leaders, they retaliated with an attack on our soldiers, where we lost 3 soldiers and 9 were wounded. Israel did not respond to that attack. Unfortunately, Hezbollah has learnt from that incident, and the chances are great that if they hit us back, that we will not respond to the attack. Bad decisions of the past, may come back to haunt us in the future.
The chances of retaliation is great, if not for sure. We have to just be very careful and awake every moment while on duty and we hope our intelligence agencies will get information first, before that have a chance to carry out their murderous plans against us. One must remember, that Hezbollah is deep in the mud, stuck in a conflict that she does not really want, in Syria. They are totally committed there with great numbers of their forces now deployed there, and their best commanders based there as well. Hezbollah does not want to light up the area, and will try to make a very restricted retaliation.
The whole building was brought down in the attack. It is said that two Israeli fighter planes fired 4 missiles at the target from within Israeli territorial skies, and hit the target 40, kilometers away, just south of Damascus.
Our intelligence is great knowing when he was there in this apartment, which apartment and through which window to fly that missile through. The middle east region is not boring and we have to watch our backs.
